We read a lot of stuff these days. With the age of social media, you pretty much are receiving mental stimulation from everyone who wants to have a voice. First hand or second hand, we are now seeing the world from a perspective that perhaps, was never before possible. Remote experiences today, are more profound than ever before with the technology we have at our disposals. So where does rhymes from the deep come in?
Like, what does that even mean? "rhymes from the deep" huh? I came up with this term a few years ago. Its actually quite a dynamic concept. Meaning, I can use it as a noun e.g. as my name RFD A.K.A Rhymes from deep. Or I could be like hey man... I rhyme! and I rhyme from the deep; from the depth of the imagination. Hope that will put a little context into further writings.
This then, may prove to be the ultimate era for producing pristine examples of the written word. Right?
Let's just say that this is one of the things we will examine during our journey through some rhymes from the deep.
Anyways, lets look into the 'why' this blog is even here. I mean, you see so much stuff out there so why would you even stay here more than a few seconds?
Before you move on, Let's look at the simple mission of this site:
"Rhymes from the deep, seeks to present the classical style of written word in a modern perspective to induce and drive positive emotion, motivation, energy and the management of these assets to achieve happy living"
That's right, I'm going to try and help you. Well, to be honest; all this stuff started as a mean of catharsis for Mr. "Rhymes from the deep" because his sh** was totally outta control. Thing is, I'm a person that has trouble with expressing complex emotions. So I rhyme fro the deep (see what I did there); to bring attention to what lies beneath the skin.
Its a wonderful thing to shed light into the darkness, because you will find both demons and treasures. Being mindful to these will actually bring you clarity in terms of who you are.
By the way, who are you?
Come with me into a journey of self exploration where we will study some rhymes from the deep that speak to this age-old question.
My name is Masood Ur Rehman. I'm a Sales manager in my thirties. Apart from my day job I write poems, articles and sometimes rap. You probably don't know me unless you know me personally.
I've been writing poems for about 17 years. First time I picked up a pen, was back when I was 16. I remember writing a poem about how people have a mask in their interactions with everyone else.
For a large duration of time, I did not save my poems. Basically I wrote poems and gave them away to people because I felt that it is selfish to keep these poems with me and its best to share the written word and the feeling behind it.
To any writers out there that may happen to be reading this. Please don't do that. Because poems, much like anything else in this world are alive. They need nurturing and that's why sometimes you hear writers saying "my poems are like my children". Because its important to have a connection with your work in order to develop one's self.
Writing and reading poems, is indeed; in my strongest of beliefs, an endeavor to improve yourself. Its true, that the written word can transform a person.
I like poems because they pack a punch! in a short amount of words. That's why my alias is 'Rhymes from the deep'. This work is supposed to entice you with it's rhyming scheme; but then pull you into the deep end until the poem becomes a seed of thought developing into the brain.
Or... it will bore the hell outta you and you'll just move on lol! that's cool too.
Hope you have fun!!
